It has been a difficult week for our craftsmen due to the weather conditions.  Our craftsmen have been busy with concrete tiling and joinery work.  Installing Velux roof lights in Leeds 16 and completing a re-roof project.

Carrying out essential repairs and maintenance works at a Church in Bradford – replacement lead work, traditional lime pointing and repairs to the slating.

Re-slating two adjacent properties in Rawdon, Leeds with Welsh slating, dome roof lights, Velux roof lights.  Replacement lead work.  Installing insulation to Building Code regulations and replacing guttering with a site extruded aluminium OG profile system.

Replacement roof covering with a single ply Wolfin Tectofin flat roof covering in Leeds 17 including new timber decking and installing insulation.  Supplying and fixing new UPVC fascia boards.

Replacement flat roof systems to Ossett College in Wakefield.

We are eagerly awaiting Summer-time weather to enable us to commence a number of great projects; the first one being a stone slate farmhouse in North Yorkshire, which dates back to the early 12th century – we shall keep you updated.

We are currently stripping and recovering a roof in West Park, Leeds 16 with a new concrete interlocking roof tile, installing two Velux roof lights, new lead work.  Supplying and fixing new aluminium OG profile guttering.

Carried out repairs maintenance work to a stone slate roof at a hotel in Monk Fryston.

Replaced and re-fixed Welsh slates to maintain the roof at St Gregorys Parish Centre, Leeds.

Stripping and recovering a Yorkshire stone slate roof in Horsforth, Leeds.  Re-bedding and re-pointing the ornamental coping stones.  Replacement of lead work to Lead Code regulations using traditional methods.

Recovered two bay roofs in Alwoodley, leeds with a new Wolfin Tectofin single ply system incorperating new powder coated edge detailing.  The Wolfin Tectofin coverings are guaranteed for a period of twenty years.

gary Gary Shaw (Director) at Pickles Bros was asked to carry out a presentation/talk to students at Leeds College of Building yesterday; Wednesday 22nd May 2013.  He talked about the roofing industry, his experience and gave a question and answer session.

Stripped and recovered Double Roman concrete interlocking tile project in Horsforth, Leeds 18  which involved installing maintenance free systems re: dry verge system shortly followed by dry ventilating ridge tile system.  Replaced the flat roof dormer with a new flat roof covering.  Installed insulation to Building Code regulations.

Re-lined box gutter with a torch-on felt system in Boston Spa, Wetherby.  The new box gutter lining is guaranteed for a period of ten years.

Supplied and fixed maintenance free systems to a bungalow in Kirkstall, leeds re:  dry verge gable units and dry ventilating ridge tile system with site extruded aluminium OG profile guttering system (with a powder coat finish).

Completed numerous repairs and maintenance projects involving re-pointing ridge tiles, replacing and re-fixing slates, cleaning out gutters etc.

Roofing project on a Grade II listed building on a Church roof in Bradford with Westmorland slates fixed in random diminishing courses.  Supplied and fixed lead box gutters, flashings to chimneystacks and copings supplied and fixed to Lead Code regulations.  Fixed 100 mm rain water pipe in cast aluminium.

Mr Steven Shaw – craftsman; supplied and fixed a code 6 lead box gutter which was welted and dressed using traditional skills all to Lead Code regulations.  On a college in Wakefield, Yorkshire.
