Wenning Hipping, Clapham – Nearing completion of the Yorkshire stone slating to the main roof incorparating re-cycled insulation to comply with Building Code regulations, tanalised laths, permeable breatherable felt, UPVC eave course trays and sourcing reclaimed Yorkshire stone slates.
Headingley, Leeds 6 – Re-roofing programme of works including re-slating using blue Welsh slates, installing insulation, re-pointing brick work, chimneystacks. Joinery work re: replacing rafters, purlins, wall plates etc.
Hyde Park – Replacing cement fibre pitched roof covering to a garage. Replaced guttering with new aluminium OG profile system which has a powder coat finish (requiring no painting). Replaced joinery work re: re-newed barge boards and decorative wood work as existing including painting on completion.
Maintenance works: Cleaning out guttering, replacing joints to extend life of the guttering.
Plus repairs and measuring in the West Yorkshire area.
Mentoring with Leeds College of Building
Today Mr Ryan Bailey from Leeds College of Building commenced working at Pickles Bros, learning valuable skills to aid him in his apprenticeship at Leeds College of Building. Wenning Hipping – Day two
We are very pleased to received an email from our clients at Wenning Hipping, Clapham. We are currently carefully removing all existing roof covering. All existing Yorkshire stone slates will be inspected for re-use, then prepared and graded. All un-re-usable materials will be cleared from site. We have sourced Yorkshire stone to make out deficiencies to match from a local source. ....all going really well here - your team are absolute stars - they are a pleasure to have around and their evident understanding of the building and craftsmanship give us lots of confidence we've made the right choice of roofers...(Mrs Sue Cowgill)
Re-roof in Rawdon, Leeds
Stripped and recovered roof with reclaimed Welsh slates incorporating an ornamental pattern. Supplied and fixed permeable breatherable under slaters felt and tanalised laths. Installed rigid board insulation to comply with current Building Code regulations. Supplied and fixed a dome roof light and replaced all new lead work using traditional skill in compliance of Lead Code regulations.
The new roof covering is guaranteed for a period of ten years.
New Employee Dave Bentley
We welcome this week a new employee: Mr David Bentley. He is an experienced craftsman with numerous years experience. We trust his first week has been gratifying and busy..
Weekly schedule 3rd June 2013
The sun has been shining at Pickles Bros this week, enabling us to have a busy full-filled week:
We have stripped and recovered a 10 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ Rosemary tiled roof covering in Bramhope, Leeds 16 incorperating a dry ventilating ridge system.
Stripped and recovered torch-on felt system to flat roof and supplied/fixed a DPC membrane to the copings on the perimeter of the roof – Roundhay, Leeds 8.
Replaced a bay roof covering with mitred hip detail and lead fish tail soaker flashings in Roundhay, Leeds 8.
Carried out repairs and maintenance work to roofs in the Leeds area.
We are also preparing two large projects – sourcing materials, scheduling programme of works etc. One of the projects is a Yorkshire stone slate roof in North Yorkshire, we shall update you shortly.
Also our foreman craftsman Adam Cropper is eagerly awaiting a new arrival this weekend and we wish him all the best and his partner of course….
